Adult student case studies

Suzanne, from Morpeth, decided to study at Northumberland College to pursue a career in something she has always been passionate about and enjoyed as a hobby for many years.

Level 2 Hairdressing student 28-year-old Frankie Simpson, from Berwick, has a passion for studying and career development.

With a background in hospitality and catering Lynn is studying towards a BA Honours Degree in Events Management with hopes for career development in her work at the Freeman Hospital, where she works as a dietary specialist chef.

23-year-old Dale Weatherhead from Eyemouth, studies Level 3 Travel and Tourism at Northumberland College’s Berwick Centre.

Mark Johnson, 39, from Newcastle studied Level 3 Arboriculture at Northumberland College’s Kirkley Hall campus ten years ago, after a career in multi-media design he found himself looking for a change of direction to something he enjoyed more.

I’ve always had an interest in photography and I got to a stage of my life when I decided that I wanted to study and make a career out of it, so I enrolled at Northumberland College.
