Our Kirkley Hall campus has a long established history as the main provider of land based education and training in the region, stretching back more than 50 years.

Campus facilities
The campus provides excellent learning facilities to give practical hands on training and help you develop the skills you need for your future career. These include:

  • Working farms at Kirkley Hall and in the Cheviot Hills
  • Extensive gardens and grounds
  • 1,330sqm of amenity and commercial greenhouses
  • Extensive woodland, countryside, plant and wildlife
  • Equestrian centre
  • Animal management centre
  • Renewable energies workshop
  • Learning resource centre

Our renewables centre is providing the UK’s first accredited course in wind skills to meet the training needs of this emerging industry.

This year we have welcomed some new arrivals to our animal management centre including baby emus, a scorpion and a Chinese water dragon. Future planned developments include a new indoor equine arena and additional zoo related animals to further develop the learning experience of our students.

Kirkley Hall is close to Newcastle city centre and is easily accessible by bus or car, so you can enjoy the best of city and rural life. For more information on the bus services to the campus from Newcastle and Northumberland click here.

Live-in accommodation is available, with a halls of residence and social facilities including a student bar, sports hall and wonderful grounds.
